A surprising gem! This sat on the shelf at a secondhand store near my house, the spine catching my eye on more than one trip. After a while, I figured it'd be better to give it a loving home than to continue letting it waste away on the shelf. When I brought it home and began to watch, I was delighted by this dark magical girl anime. It makes sparse use of background tracks, most scenes notably silent, with the exception of maybe some light ambience. I don't think it's supposed to come off uncomfortable or unnerving, but rather as calm. peaceful. still.
